Itinerary

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival, make your way to the Best Western Gold Rush Hotel in downtown, which will be your home for the first four nights of this incredible twin-centre adventure. Whitehorse, the capital of Yukon, is so much more than your arrival gateway. Named the Wilderness City, it is nestled on the banks of the famous Yukon River and is surrounded by rugged mountains and pristine lakes. You can hike, bike, or jog the vast network of trails, many of which follow the shores of the river.

We have included a Guided Canoe Day Tour. During this four hour water adventure,  knowledgeable guides escort you along the Yukon River, discovering how beautiful it really is. The perfect way to enjoy a Yukon summer day! This tours can be substituted should they not be suitable and additional tours and sightseeing may be added. Click here for a full list of Whitehorse sightseeing options. Those who are driving find the sky’s the limit. Less than an houraway are the refreshing hot springs, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and the much-photographed Emerald Lake. We suggest taking a day trip to Carcross, where a compelling First Nation culture invites you to experience their heritage. Stand in the presence of totem poles, and then tuck inside a carving shed to watch and learn the significance of the artwork’s shapes and colours. Get a coffee at Carcross Commons and wander down to Bennett Lake’s sandy beaches. Overlooked by Montana Mountain, this glacial lake was once busy with gold seekers struggling their way to the Klondike. The train tracks on the mountain lead to the White Pass & Yukon Route station, a historic rail journey starting in Carcross.

Should you sih to avoid the drive, we can arrange ground or air transfers between the two locations.

Nicknamed the ‘Paris of the North’, this authentic gold rush town is bursting with historic sites and fascinating attractions. To help you truly experience Dawson City, we have included a Dawson City & Goldfields tour, giving you the opportunity to learn about the Klondike Goldrush and how the methods have evolved into today’s modern-day mining. This three-hour tour includes a visit to Claim 33 – where you will try your hand at panning, plus a tour of Dawson City’s historic buildings.

If you have car hire, there is much to explore in the surrounding area. Dawson City is the gateway to Tombstone Territorial Park, where you can experience the unique wilderness of rugged peaks, permafrost landforms, and abundant wildlife. We also offer a guided Tombstone Park tour which can be added to your itinerary. Another recommendation, is to make the short drive to the top of the Midnight Dome, the highest point in the city with spectacular 360-degree views of the Goldfields, Klondike, Yukon River and Klondike Valley. Again, if you’d prefer not to drive yourself, we have a guided Top of the Midnight Dome tour which can be included.
