Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Denver. Upon arrival, make your own way to the Curtis Hotel, ideally located for sightseeing and shopping in downtown Denver.
With a further night in Denver you’ll have ample time to explore the delights of this incredible city. Experience spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains, outdoor cafes, farm-to-table cuisine, local breweries serving craft beer and plenty of shopping.
Today, leave the bright lights of Denver behind as you collect your rental car and stop in the colourful city of Boulder, before continuing on to Estes Park. Set on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, you’ll find yourself surrounded by breathtaking scenery, from vibrant wildflowers and crystal-clear lakes to abundant wildlife.
Venturing towards the far east of the state, today’s destination is Grand Junction; Colorado’s wine country. Enjoy the charming downtown with great shops and restaurants and more than 20 wineries. Visit the Colorado National Monument, where towering monoliths and fascinating sculptures dot the vast red-rock canyon landscape. Watch for the bobcats and mountain lions which prowl the area! Ride the range at Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse Area; 36,000 acres of rugged canyons and plateaus located just eight miles from Grand Junction. If you have a fascination for dinosaurs, this is the place for you. Hundreds of species have been unearthed here and there are many museums and attractions dedicated to the magnificent creatures.
Leaving Grand Junction behind, the drive south reveals ever-changing scenery before arriving in the lively mountain town of Durango. Here, explore the historic downtown, ride the famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad through spectacular canyon landscapes, and enjoy outdoor adventures from river rafting to hiking nearby trails. With a strong Old West character, craft breweries, local dining and easy access to Mesa Verde National Park’s remarkable cliff dwellings, Durango offers a perfect blend of history, culture and high-country adventure.
Heading northeast from Durango, the journey winds through high desert and mountain vistas before reaching Gunnison, a gateway to expansive wilderness and outdoor adventure. Guests can explore the scenic Curecanti National Recreation Area, hike nearby trails, or enjoy boating along the reservoirs. The town itself offers charming local eateries, cosy cafes, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that captures the spirit of Colorado’s high country.
Today you’ll drive east through sweeping valleys and dramatic mountain passes, arriving in the vibrant city of Colorado Springs. Striking natural landmarks await, from the towering spires of Garden of the Gods to the panoramic views atop Pikes Peak. Explore charming downtown streets, wander botanical gardens, or take scenic hikes along nearby trails. The city perfectly blends outdoor adventure with cultural experiences, offering museums, historic sites, and local dining, making it the perfect final destination to soak in Colorado’s beauty and energy.
From Colorado Springs, it’s a short drive north back to Denver, where you return your rental car and check-in for your flight back to the UK.
