Although music plays a huge part in Nashville’s culture, there is much more to explore in the city. Make sure to head down to the water and perhaps enjoy a cruise on the river. Then, for a very different ambiance, Nashville’s newest district Fifth + Broadway offers a vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment district which is worth checking out.

You’ll pick up your rental car and make the four hour journey from Nashville, across the state, to Memphis. Here you can immerse yourself in the city renowned as the home of the blues and the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll. We’ve allowed three days for you to experience Memphis, as there is so much for you to explore. Of course, no visit to Memphis is complete without touring Elvis’s home of Graceland, and the Elvis museums and exhibits which surround it. In addition, don’t miss a tour of Sun Studio’s, and visits to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and Gibson Guitar Factory. Dining is wonderful in Memphis, with a wide range of culinary options to tempt your taste buds.
Accommodation
The Peabody, Memphis
The Peabody first welcomed guests in 1869 and has retained its historic charm ever since. Each of the 464 guestrooms is elegantly appointed, combining lavish décor with a soft, calming ambiance. Leaving Tennessee behind, you cross into the ‘Magnolia State’ of Mississippi, which has plenty of scenic beauty, and a rich history particularly associated with the Native American tribes and the battles of the American Civil War. This is a city busting with southern hospitality, local culture, art, entertainment, and outdoor activities, and boasts sweeping views of the Mississippi River. Visitors can relive that history by visiting the Vicksburg National Military Park. Civil War history is simply part of Vicksburg’s tapestry and can be found throughout the city at historic homes, churches, Old Court House Museum, Lower Mississippi River Museum and Old Depot Museum. Jackson, the nearly capital city, is also worth a visit. The Blues were born in Mississippi and Jackson is the perfect place to hear it. On Historic Farish Street, you can listen to the blues at Johnny T’s Lounge and then head down the street to F. Jones Corner for your late-night entertainment. We have included an overnight in Vicksburg at a historic inn, but you may choose to stay in Jackson instead at a more traditional hotel such as the Hilton or Westin.
Accommodation
Corners Mansion Inn, Vicksburg

A short drive brings you to Natchez, sitting on the banks of the majestic Mississippi River. It is one of the country’s oldest and most charming cities, offering small-town allure and over three centuries of rich history, making it a jewel of a city to discover. Here you’ll find one of the largest collections of historic buildings in the country, have incredible culinary experiences and be on the doorstep of countless outdoor adventures. The Natchez Trails are a combination of city streets and walkways dotted with interpretive panels depicting the history of the area in which you are walking. The trails run throughout the downtown area and along the bluff overlooking the river.

Each of the 11 suites offers a separate sitting area and many boast spa tubs and fireplaces.
Your final journey brings you to the vibrant, cultural and historic city of New Orleans. It is affectionately known as ‘The Big Easy’, as it’s a wonderful laid-back city but with plenty to keep you entertained. Stroll along the narrow streets, enjoy a typical Creole meal or perhaps a spot of jazz in the renowned French Quarter where your hotel is located. During your stay, make sure you ride the famed ‘Streetcar named Desire’, walk through the historic garden district and take a paddle wheeler cruise along the Mississippi River.
