The perfect choice for the first-time visitor to Nevada. You’ll start by flying into Salt Lake City, Utah for a three night stay before heading to Nevada for a further twelve nights. Highlights include stays in Elko, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Ely before a final three nights in the bright lights of Las Vegas.

Depart the UK on your scheduled flight to Salt Lake City. Upon arrival, collect your rental car and proceed to your hotel.
Salt Lake City combines unparalleled access to natural recreation with a remarkable history and warm, gracious hospitality. To make the most of your day in the city, we suggest taking a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing tour which provides the opportunity of visiting Olympic Cauldron Park, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Red Butte Gardens, Utah Museum of Natural History, Temple Square and more.
Your adventure begins as you head west, skirting the southern shores of the Great Salt Lake and crossing the vast Great Salt Lake Desert into Nevada. Stop for lunch in Wendover and perhaps a break in Wells before arriving in Elko, where you’ll spend two nights in the heart of Cowboy Country. Highlights include the California Trail Interpretive Center, historic downtown Elko, Capriola’s Saddle Shop, and the Western Folklife Center. Just outside town, a scenic drive through Lamoille Canyon reveals dramatic Ruby Mountain scenery, wildlife, wildflowers, and rushing streams.
Today is a longer but scenic drive through classic Cowboy Country. Stretch your legs at Rye Patch State Recreation Area or stop in Lovelock to admire the Lovers Lock Plaza. Arrive in Reno, the “Biggest Little City in the World,” once famous for gambling and quick divorces, now enjoying a cultural revival with shops, galleries, and restaurants. During your stay, relax at world-class spas, explore the Riverwalk, visit the National Automobile Museum, or opt for more active pursuits such as the downtown white-water kayak course or outdoor climbing wall.
Although the drive to Lake Tahoe is short, consider taking a longer route via I-580 to explore Carson City, Virginia City, and Genoa. Discover Nevada’s capital and its museums, step back into the Old West in Virginia City, and stop in Genoa, Nevada’s first settlement and home to the historic Genoa Bar. Arrive at breathtaking Lake Tahoe, where crystal-clear waters reflect snow-capped peaks. This classic lakeside resort offers sandy beaches, pine forests, cruises on the lake, and year-round activities, from summer water sports and hiking to world-class skiing and winter fun.
Travel from Lake Tahoe to Ely today, with a lunch stop in Eureka and a visit to the historic 1881 Eureka Opera House. Continue along the ‘Loneliest Road in America’ to Ely, where you’ll spend two nights, perhaps dining in a former jail cell at the Cell Block Steak House. With a full day to explore, ride the Nevada Northern Railway’s Ghost Train, visit the East Ely Railroad Depot Museum, explore Renaissance Village, and discover Ely’s outdoor art trail celebrating the town’s rich mining and cultural heritage.
Leaving behind charming small towns, picturesque villages, and tranquil landscapes, you’ll head south to the dazzling entertainment capital of the world. For a more scenic route, consider driving along the famous Extra-terrestrial Highway, with a stop in the quirky town of Rachel. Once you arrive in Las Vegas, you’ll return your car and step into a city alive with world-class restaurants, spectacular shows, and vibrant nightlife, everything you need for an unforgettable experience.
Spend your last morning relaxing before making your way to Las Vegas International Airport and check in for your flight back to the UK.
