Combine two of Pennsylvania’s best-loved cities on this incredible itinerary. You will spend four nights in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, with sightseeing included in each. This short break also includes:
NOTE: This itinerary can commence in either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia
Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Pittsburgh. Upon arrival, independently make your way to the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel, Pittsburgh Downtown where you will spend the first four nights of your adventure.
You have a full three days to explore Pittsburgh, a true renaissance city, which you are going to adore. To assist you in getting a feel for the city, and where you may want to explore further, we have included a Hop-on Hop-off bus tour. Visiting many of Pittsburgh’s top attractions, you can disembark wherever you choose and discover them at your own pace. If you haven’t already, we recommend visiting The Andy Warhol Museum, Station Square, Heinz History Centre and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. There are many more options, however these are the ones you shouldnt miss. For all the outdoor adventurers, Pittsburgh’s rivers are ideal for sculling, kayaking, and canoeing. On the Allegheny River in the heart of Downtown, you can rent solo and tandem kayaks, canoes, and hydro bikes for peaceful urban exploration. If you are looking for a mall or outdoor shopping space, Ross Park Mall features high-end fashion with over 150 retailers and Grove City Premium Outlets, located just 50 minutes north of Pittsburgh, includes more than 130 retail outlets. We have also included a Bike and Brewery Tour for a whole different way of exploring! An eclectic mix of international menus adorn the myriad of restaurants in the city and the bars are characterful and welcoming.

Today you will return to Pittsburgh International Airport for an internal flight to Philadelphia. You have the option of making the five hour drive if you prefer. Once in Philly, you’ll check into your hotel and prepare for four nights exploring another incredible Pennsylvanian city. Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to spend your first evening in Philadelphia, exploring the wonderful downtown area, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops. This is your first chance to sink your teeth into a true Philadelphia cheesesteak.
Make sure you have a hearty breakfast, ready for an action-packed day. Today you will get to visit all of Philadelphia’s famous and historical sites, as we have included another Hop-on-Hop-off sightseeing tour. You’ll be able to visit 27 of Philadelphia’s top attractions including two of the highlight – the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. You can jump on and off the bus at any of the stops and get to know the city in your own time. In the evening, we recommend visiting Reading Terminal Market, one of the oldest (and one of the best) farmer’s markets in the nation, which is home to nearly 80 vendors including 26 restaurants. The Market’s vendors serve a wide range of cuisine, including Caribbean, Cajun, Greek, Japanese, and soul food favourites. After your sightseeing day, you have a further two full days to explore. Perhaps, you could run the famous ‘Rocky Steps’, take a stroll through the Italian Market or snap a selfie at LOVE park. For those looking for something a little more relaxed, we also recommend exploring the museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. To ensure you have a gastronomic treat, we have also included a Flavours of Philly Food Tour which can be booked on either of your final two days in Philadelphia. This tour is your chance to eat your way through Philadelphia like a local. You will follow a guide to the heart of the city and visit five distinctive eateries to sample iconic Philly favourites, such as cheesesteaks, tomato pie, and soft pretzels.
