Not included:
Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to New York. Upon arrival, independently make your way to your hotel, where you spend the first night of your adventure.
Collect your motorhome from New York or Newark and head south towards the New Jersey coast, where superb Atlantic beaches meet the world-class entertainment of Atlantic City. Along the way, you may wish to stop at Long Branch, a favourite seaside resort of seven U.S. Presidents and home to the elegant Beaux-Arts Woodrow Wilson Hall, adding a touch of history and charm to your coastal journey.
A short journey inland brings you within easy reach of Philadelphia, the birthplace of the nation and home to the historic landmarks of Independence National Historical Park. Explore iconic sights such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, along with the many other attractions that define the rich heritage of the “City of Brotherly Love.”
College Park is not only conveniently located for visiting Washington, DC, but is also home to the world’s oldest continuously operating airport, founded by the Wright brothers over a century ago. From here, it’s easy to explore the capital’s wealth of iconic landmarks, including Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Smithsonian museums and the Kennedy gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery, along with countless other sights to easily fill a fortnight of sightseeing.
Presque Isle State Park attracts several million visitors each year, drawn by its sandy beaches, scenic nature trails and unique setting on Lake Erie. As its name suggests, this “almost an island” is a long sandbar extending into the lake, its presence marked by several historic lighthouses. Nearby, enjoy the rides and slides of Waldameer Park and Water World, or explore the welcoming wineries dotted along the shores of Lake Erie.
The route to Niagara Falls follows the scenic Lake Erie shore, bypassing the city of Buffalo. Beyond experiencing the breathtaking majesty of the Falls themselves, the area offers a variety of attractions, including Martin’s Fantasy Island nearby. For an even more spectacular view, cross over to the Canadian side via the Rainbow Bridge or one of the other crossing points and take in the full grandeur of this world-famous natural wonder.
Best known as the former home of the US Grand Prix, Watkins Glen is set within New York State’s picturesque Finger Lakes region. As you travel along the eastern shore of Lake Seneca, explore the beauty of Seneca Lake itself and visit nearby Sampson and Lodi Point State Parks, enjoying the stunning landscapes and tranquil waters of this scenic area.
Spanning more than six million acres, the Adirondacks offer access to incredible landscapes and charming towns, with open wilderness awaiting exploration. Hike the trails of the famed Adirondack High Peaks, unwind by pristine lakes, and experience the unique beauty of this remarkable region, where adventure and tranquility blend seamlessly under the stars.
Return to New Jersey on a half-day drive toward the New York metropolitan area, arriving at a location with views of Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Manhattan skyline across the Hudson River. Manhattan is easily accessible by ferry or subway in just over fifteen minutes, offering endless opportunities to enjoy a Broadway play, dine at a top restaurant, or simply explore the city on foot.
Long Island offers a charming contrast to the bustle of New York City, growing more pronounced the farther you travel from the metropolis. Traveling past JFK International and along the Atlantic Coast, you pass through Shinnecock Hills and the fashionable Hamptons, before reaching Hither Hills. Nearby, explore the natural beauty of Fire Island National Seashore.
Allow a good two hours to get back to the Cruise America depot, especially if driving in rush hour. Return your motorhome, make your way to the airport and check in for your flight back to the UK.
