Washington, DC, is an extraordinary city, bustling with fabulous restaurants and bars and too many attractions to name. Whilst in downtown, make sure you visit the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, Smithsonians many museums, the Capitol Building and, of course the White House. Their close locations along The Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue mean that they are best visited on foot, on a biking tour, or even a Segway tour. There are also two great museums which are a must; Newseum, which is filled with media paraphernalia and the days front covers from around the world, and The Spy Museum which provides an insight into the world of espionage throughout the generations. The city’s Metro provides for safe and easy navigation out into the various districts of the city. Take a trip to the Adams Mark district for great restaurants, U Street for quaint shopping and Dupont Circle – home to the worlds embassies.

Annapolis is also worth considering, with a strong maritime feel which is reflected throughout Maryland. The state capitol is filled with history and a hint of cosmopolitan chic. Your accommodation for the next fours nights is a lovely hotel located directly on the waterfront. Cambridge is an authentic working bay town on the beautiful Choptank River, so there are plenty of water activities to enjoy.
