Calling all adventurers! The mountain resort of Whistler and the cool city of Vancouver are also included.  This fly drive also includes:

  • Round trip scheduled flights
  • Intermediate 4 door car hire including insurances
  • Accommodation as stated

Itinerary

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Vancouver. Upon arrival, transfer independently to your hotel, where you spend the first two nights of your adventure.

Vancouver is known to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Canada. A relaxed way of life, clean and healthy living make it a popular holiday destination. Today is yours to explore the wonderful city, We would suggest a hop-on hop-off city tour to familiarise you with its many districts then get out to explore. Take a whale watching excursion from the harbour, a float plane aerial tour, spend time in Stanley Park exploring the gardens and totem pole collection, try some retail therapy in Gastown and make a visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge. Evenings are well catered for, with a whole host of international restaurants, gastro pubs with onsite breweries and a great bar scene.

Sightseeing in Vancouver

250 Miles / 402 Kilometres

Today you drive south toward Osoyoos, a beautiful little town where you will have two nights to explore. You cannot visit Osoyoos without heading to the lake, renowned as the warmest lake in Canada! Try paddleboarding, kayaking or perhaps a boat rental. If time allows, relax on one of the lakeside beaches at Gyro or Cottonwood. You may choose to take the Pioneer Walkway along the waterfront or explore the shopping on Mainstreet. We also suggest taking a trip to the Nk’Mip Cellars, which is the first Indigenous owned winery in Canada. As you have two days, why not take the short drive to Covert Farms where you can take a culinary journey through Canada’s desert? One of Canada’s Signature Experiences, it is well worth the time. Explore the farm orchards and u-pick fields before enjoying a private wine tasting session and local dishes.

Sightseeing in the Thomson Okanagan region

Accommodation

42 Miles / 68 Kilometres

Leaving Osoyoos behind, you head inland to the city of Penticton which is situated between Okanagan and Skaha Lake. Whilst here, why not cycle the Kettle Valley Rail Trail? Perhaps take a leisurely ride along Skaha Lake to Okanagan Falls or, should you be more adventurous, Myra Canyon Trestle is a must. After your cycling adventure, you deserve to visit one of the 100 wineries which can be easily reached within an hours drive.

Accommodation

139 Miles / 224 Kilometres

After your scenic drive from Penticton to the old railroad town of Kamloops, be sure to take a short ride on the steam locomotive, exploring the city and its beautiful surroundings. Alternatively, take a guided heritage tour, hearing stories of train robbers and local artists whilst taking in the historic buildings that make up this city. For incredible panoramic views over Kamloops Lake and Thompson River Valley, hike or take a walking tour up to Battle Bluff. In the evening we suggest sampling the seasonal brews created at the Noble Pig Brew or Red Collar Brewing co.

It is only a short drive today, with wonderful rewards as you’ll be spending a few days amongst panoramic beauty. It is a slower pace of life at Echo Valley Ranch, but this is no ordinary ranch as you wont be forgoing creature comforts! Take one of the horses out into the heart of British Columbia’s cowboy country, where rides are suitable for all levels; beginners through to experts. The ranch also offers hiking, fly fishing and biking as well as a spot of indulgence at the spa.

Accommodation

This morning you journey back to civilisation and the quaint resort of Whistler. Although renowned in the winter for it’s ski, this is a wonderful place to be in the warmer months. Choose from a wealth of exhilarating activities including a tour of Olympic Park (home to the winter Olympics), a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola, zip-lining through the wooded hills and hiking the alpine trails. For a spot of culture, visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre to see the arts and crafts of the First Nations people. Whistler also offers tasting tours and wildlife experiences including bear watching.
