The Geo Domes are designed for nature-cravers and memory-makers and accommodate a maximum of 2 adults. Although rustic, the Domes have all you need for a comfortable stay. Each offers lighting/power, ceiling fan, mini fridge with freezer, fireplace gas heater, queen size bed and bedding, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, water pitcher, covered barbecue (with side burner), wash basin (with dish soap and tea towel), jug of water (potable water available at shower building), picnic table and fire pit. There is no plumbing in the Domes but there are toilets nearby and the shower building with flush toilets is a five minute walk away.
Facilities
Elk Island National Park is just a hop, skip and jump away where you can spend the day hiking, canoeing, and per chance spotting bison and other wildlife. There are also nature trails and ample natural beauty surrounding you which can be explored. There’s a volleyball/badminton net and a couple of sets of horseshoe pits on site as well as a grassy clearing where you can toss a frisbee or kick a football around. There are also showers and laundry facilities on site.
Location
Elk Island Retreat is a beautiful serene private campground situated on the outskirts of Elk Island National Park, just twenty minutes east of Edmonton. Fort Saskatchewan is less than a half hour drive, where supplies can be purchased plus a range of shops and restaurants available. Your gateway into Elk Island is Edmonton International Airport which is just less than an hour's drive.
