Itinerary

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Nashville, Tennessee. Upon arrival, transfer independently to Gaylord Opryland Resort where you’ll have the chance to relax and climatise before meeting the rest of your tour group tomorrow evening.

Accommodation

Settle into Nashville with an additional day at leisure, ready to immerse yourself in the tastes and sounds of the South. This evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.

Accommodation

This morning, experience the famous Nashville Sound with a visit to RCA Studio B, where legends like Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, and Roy Orbison once recorded. Dive into the life and music of Johnny Cash during a private performance of original Cash songs, hosted by one of his family members. Continue your musical journey at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where you’ll see treasures such as Elvis’ Solid Gold Cadillac limousine and Jim Reeves’ tuxedo jacket. This evening, enjoy a live show at the legendary Grand Ole Opry.

Accommodation

Continue your exploration of Nashville with a visit to the Johnny Cash Museum. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy, perhaps tour the Ryman Auditorium, where Johnny and June first met, or take a hop-on-hop-off trolley ride. You might also stroll through Broadway’s lively honky-tonk scene or indulge in the comforting flavours of homemade fried chicken and biscuits.

Accommodation

Head to Memphis’ famous Beale Street, the birthplace of Blues, Soul, and Rock ’n’ Roll, for a guided tour with a musician and Local Specialist who will share the city’s rich musical heritage. Continue your sightseeing with a visit to the Lorraine Motel, where civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was tragically assassinated—now one of the most significant landmarks of the civil rights movement. Explore the National Civil Rights Museum, one of the premier cultural institutions in the country, with interactive exhibits that trace the movement’s history and show how its heroes and lessons continue to shape equality worldwide. This evening, savour a dinner of classic Southern cuisine, rounding off your journey through Memphis, past and present.

Pay tribute to the King of Rock ’n’ Roll with a visit to Graceland, celebrating the legacy of Elvis Presley and his lasting impact on American music and culture. Continue to Sun Studio, the legendary recording house that captured the raw energy of Beale Street and produced the first Rock ’n’ Roll single in 1951. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Begin the day with a musical morning at the Memphis Rock ’n’ Soul Museum, where you’ll explore the blues, country, and gospel roots of the rural South before departing for Natchez, Mississippi. Arriving on the banks of the Mississippi River, you’ll be surrounded by stunning antebellum homes. Experience true Southern hospitality tonight during a memorable Be My Guest dinner at one of the region’s beautiful historic private homes. Connect with locals who have lived here for generations as they open their doors, share their stories, and welcome you to enjoy backyard cocktails like Planter’s Punch paired with elevated Southern cuisine.

Accommodation

Today, delve deeper into an important chapter of Southern history with a visit to Frogmore Plantation and Gins, a working cotton plantation. Learn about the lives of Natchez planters and the harsh realities of slavery in the South. Tour the property, which features 19 restored antebellum buildings and historic equipment dating back to the early 1800s, including a Smithsonian-quality steam gin listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Discover how cotton was processed while gaining a meaningful understanding of the impact of slavery. Your tour concludes with a visit to the plantation’s still-operating cotton gin, capable of processing 900 bales per day.

Let the good times roll in New Orleans today, tracing the cosmopolitan history of one of America’s oldest cities with a Local Specialist, stopping at City Park and one of the ornate above-ground cemeteries. Spend the afternoon soaking up the laid-back vibes of The Big Easy. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own.

Today is yours to explore the French, Spanish, and Creole sights and sounds of New Orleans. Consider joining an optional tour of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park to discover the scenic swamps and bayous, or take a leisurely stroll down Magazine Street to enjoy regional food and shopping. This evening, gather with your Travel Director and new friends for a memorable dinner featuring a private cooking demonstration by a local chef, showcasing authentic Creole flavours at the New Orleans School of Cooking.

After your final breakfast, bid farewell to your tour group and make your own way to New Orleans International Airport to check in for your flight back to the UK. Alternatively, extend your holiday for a few more days.
