Camping in the Yukon is like no other place in the world. From the clear blue alpine lakes to the rare bird and tree species you will encounter along the campgrounds you visit. People go camping for their own unique reasons: some like to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature, others to escape the routine of everyday life.
RENTAL OPTIONAL EXTRA’S: Early pick up, late drop off, extra mileage packages, upgraded tent, mountain bikes, bike rack, solar kit, bear spray, backpacks, fishing equipment, packrafts, paddle boards, ground tents, sleeping pads, electric cooler, gas generator. Call for prices.
Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival, independently make your way to Best Western Gold Rush Inn, where you spend the first two nights of your adventure.
You have a full day today to head out and explore the Yukon’s capital of Whitehorse. There is plenty to keep you entertained! Start in downtown, where Main Street is lined with quaint stores to browse and cafes to enjoy local eats. For more wandering, perhaps head to Hipyards Park where a weekly Farmers Market, crafts and performers entertain. Why not stroll the Millennium Trail past the impressive Whitehorse dam and along the river to tour the historic S.S. Klondike sternwheeler. Whitehorse is not known as the Wilderness City for no reason – there are lots of active adventures awaiting you too. Head out on the Yukon River for a kayaking or canoe experience, hike the trails at Grey Mountain, Haeckel Hill and Golden Horn Mountain or fish for Arctic Grayling.
On day three, you collect your Jeep Wrangler from the Overland Yukon Whitehorse depot and commence your adventure. Yukon is an incredible destination to discover, with a myriad of options and opportunities depending on your preferences. We do suggest you plan your route carefully before you depart. Some roads are difficult terrain and your insurance may be invalid or reduced should you wish to take that route. If you’d like to chat, we would be happy to assist in planning your journey.
Return your rental to the Overland Yukon Whitehorse depot. Make your way back to the airport and check in for your flight back to the UK.
