NOTE: you may choose to add extra nights in Orlando at the start of your journey or, as you return to Orlando to fly home, you could stay extra nights at the end. Or perhaps do both!

Today you’ll head to Cruise America in Kissimmee to collect your motorhome. From there, travel northeast toward Daytona Beach and take some time to explore the area. Then follow Route A1A, Florida’s scenic coastal road, up toward historic St. Augustine, the oldest permanent European settlement on the North American continent.

Drive around Jacksonville and cross into Georgia, continuing north along the coast toward historic Savannah. The city, one of the true “Old South” gems of the USA, is famed for its grand oak-lined streets and historic charm.

On the way from Charleston to Myrtle Beach, consider stopping at one of the region’s iconic plantations, such as Boone Hall, Middleton Place, or Magnolia Plantation, each rich in history and beautifully preserved. Myrtle Beach is renowned worldwide as a golf destination, but beyond the fairways and beaches, it offers a variety of family-friendly attractions.

A long but rewarding drive west through the countryside of South Carolina. You’re bound for the resort area of Lake Lure, in North Carolina, famous for that iconic piece of film, the lake lift in Dirty Dancing. This natural area of scenic beauty gives a lovely end to the day or if you fancy a great view take a trip to the top of Chimney Rock for amazing vistas.

Today make sure you make time to visit Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, the largest privately owned home in the USA, a truly amazing place. You are now heading towards the Great Smoky Mountains National Park area, world renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America’s most visited national park! Spend the next couple of days enjoying all the great attractions that the Smokies have to offer including scenic helicopter tours, nature centers, whitewater rafting, Ripley’s Aquarium, Dollywood, Splash Country and The Titantic Museum.

Heading toward Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park is home to the world’s largest relief carving, depicting Confederate leaders Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and President Jefferson Davis. Spanning 3,200 acres of natural beauty, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including 15 miles of wooded nature trails and a 1.3-mile hike to the summit.

Today involves a long drive,, but your destination makes it worthwhile: Cedar Key, nestled on the Gulf of Mexico. You’ll be ideally located to explore the nearby Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge and enjoy the area’s natural beauty.

Today’s drive is an easy one to a highly rated area near Tampa Bay, close to all the region’s attractions, including the famous Busch Gardens with its thrilling roller coasters.

Travel to the Disney area for as many nights as you wish to spend enjoying the magic of Mickey Mouse. There’s little to say about him except that he’s an enduring icon, married to Minnie, and together they’ve created an entertainment empire that spans much of Central Florida. Must-see parks include EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and, of course, the Magic Kingdom itself.

Allow a good two hours to get back to he Cruise America depot, especially if driving in rush hour. Return your motorhome, make your way to the airport and check in for your flight back to the UK.
