Accommodation

54 Miles / 87 Kilometres

Collect your motorhome from Cruise America’s Salt Lake City depot and head south toward Springville. Just a short drive brings you beneath the majestic Rocky Mountains, only ten minutes from Brigham Young University and Seven Peaks Water Park, a perfect spot to get comfortable with your motorhome. While in the area, be sure to visit the stunning Timpanogos Cave National Monument.

192 Miles / 309 Kilometres

Travel south past the scenic Uinta National Forest, one of the nation’s most ecologically diverse and frequently visited forests, covering over two million acres. Continue toward Canyonlands National Park and the Islands in the Sky Visitor Centre. The Island in the Sky mesa rises on sheer sandstone cliffs more than 1,000 feet above the surrounding landscape, with every overlook offering a unique perspective on Canyonlands’ breathtaking scenery. This district is the easiest to explore if you’re short on time. Nearby, visit Green River to discover its outstanding River History Museum.

26 Miles / 42 Kilometres

Moab is a great centre for seeing the Canyonlands/Arches National Park area. How about a half-day Jetboat tour on the Colorado River or, for the more intrepid, a white water raft trip through the rapids. Add a half day 4WD, off road, tour to either and make a real day of it. You can relax afterwards on an evening Dinner Cruise or the Sound and Light Cruise.

153 Miles / 246 Kilometres

Explore Arches National Park, home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch. The park showcases a landscape of striking contrasts in colour, landforms, and textures, boasting the highest density of natural arches on the planet. Continue 72 miles south to the Four Corners region, where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet. Consider a side trip to Cortez, Colorado, or venture south into the iconic Monument Valley. While in Arches, don’t miss Devil’s Garden and The Windows, both offering unforgettable views of the park’s unique formations.

266 Miles / 428 Kilometres

Head west across the mighty Colorado River aboard the Charles Hall Ferry, a short 30-minute crossing between Halls Crossing and Bullfrog Marina. From there, continue past Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, where you may wish to stop and take in the views. Explore Escalante State Park, known for its colourful deposits of mineralized wood and dinosaur bones, and enjoy the scenic 130-acre Wide Hollow Reservoir, perfect for water recreation and fishing. Before reaching the town of Escalante, be sure to visit the spectacular Escalante Canyons and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding park.

48 Miles / 77 Kilometres

Bryce Canyon National Park has been described as a scientist’s laboratory and a child’s playground, offering a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Natural amphitheatres rise above a striking array of white and orange limestone columns and walls, sculpted over time by rain, snow, and frost. While driving through the park is permitted, using the free shuttle is highly recommended, as it serves twelve stops including the park’s finest lookouts and trailheads. Don’t miss Sunrise, Sunset, and Inspiration Points, each offering breathtaking views of Bryce Canyon’s unique landscape.

84 Miles / 135 Kilometres

Head south past the scenic Dixie National Forest to experience the striking beauty of Zion National Park. Massive canyon walls rise toward a brilliant blue sky, and the park is best explored on foot—walk among towering cliffs or test your courage in one of the park’s narrow slot canyons. The unique sandstone cliffs display a range of colours from cream to pink to deep red, resembling sandcastles crowning the desert canyons. To navigate this fragile landscape, the mandatory shuttle serves nine stops at key lookouts and trailheads. Don’t miss a visit to the Zion Human History Museum to learn more about the park’s fascinating past.

125 Miles / 201 Kilometres

Enjoy your time at Zion National Park, with a relaxed journey today of under three hours, so there’s no need to rush. Along the way, visit the historic Old Cove Fort. Having seen so many natural wonders, you might also consider extending your trip to experience the man-made marvel of Las Vegas, approximately 150 miles from here.

145 Miles / 233 Kilometres

Reach Salt Lake City in just over two hours and take time to explore the city that laid the foundation for the Mormon faith. While the Family History Library is well-known, you might be surprised at how easy and affordable it is to book a genealogy research trip there. Extend your stay, if time allows, to visit two more iconic National Parks, world-famous Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Don’t miss a visit to the Mormon Tabernacle, where you may hear the impressive 11,623-pipe organ in action, ideally accompanied by the world-famous choir.

7 Miles / 11 Kilometres

It is just a 10 mile drive to drop off your motorhome at the Salt Lake depot. Make your way to the airport and check in for the flight back to the UK.
