Grand Canyon & Las Vegas by Motorhome

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Las Vegas. Upon arrival, independently make your way to your hotel, where you spend the first night of your adventure.

Pick up your motorhome in Las Vegas and head toward Blake Ranch for your first night on the road. You’ll cross into Arizona at the Hoover Dam, while it’s recommended to save a visit for your return journey, be aware that there may be a Homeland Security checkpoint in the area. No need to worry; it’s just a precaution near the millions of gallons of water held back by the dam.

You’re headed for Williams, home to the Grand Canyon Railway and its charming depot and hotel area. Take advantage of the hotel’s indoor pool and Jacuzzi, as well as its bar and restaurant, all open to visitors.

The highlight of this tour is standing at the rim of this magnificent National Park. No photograph, painting, or film can truly capture its scale, you’ll want to carry the memory with you. For a truly unforgettable experience, consider a helicopter flight over or even into the Canyon.

Continue to Flagstaff, then head south through the scenic Coconino National Forest before turning off toward Sedona. Tonight’s base is in the heart of the stunning red rock formations, within walking distance of the town’s restaurants, shops, and galleries.

Today you’ll take a scenic loop through Prescott National Forest before heading back up to Seligman, a drive of around four hours. Along the way, Prescott offers several worthwhile stops, including museums of Western art and Native American artifacts, as well as Sharlot Hall, the first territorial governor’s mansion. Just past Ash Fork, you’ll re-join Historic Route 66 and continue on toward Seligman, covering a total of 130 miles to reach the start of this iconic highway.

Much of the original Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles is gone, but one of the longest remaining sections offers a scenic drive through Peach Springs, on the edge of the Hualapai Indian Reservation, all the way to Kingman.

Take some time to explore the Hoover Dam, an incredible feat of engineering that channels the mighty Colorado River through turbines at 85 miles per hour to generate power for much of three states.

Drive just 10 Miles to drop of your motorhome at the Las Vegas depot. Make your way to the airport and check in for your flight back to the UK.
