Sheep Mountain Lodge offers 14 guestrooms and suite in three different accommodation types. All options are relatively basic due to the location, and are traditional in style, with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The Guesthouse has three guestrooms with a shared bathroom. Each room has 2 queen beds with a private entrance, table, chairs, dresser, microwave, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and a deck with a magnificent view. The Shower House (shared, private showers/toilets) is just a short walk outside the Guesthouse. There are seven Classic Cabins which have private bath/shower and overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. These cabins have a queen bed or twin beds, a deck with seating, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The highest level of accommodation are the four handcrafted Premier Cabins, which have a kitchenette and private bathroom/shower. Each cabin has two queen beds and a full size pull out sleeper sofa, plus a furnished deck where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Matanuska Valley and Chugach Mountains.
Welcoming travellers for over 80 years, Sheep Mountain Lodge boasts spectacular mountain views and is located along the scenic Glenn Highway, halfway between the towns of Palmer and Glennallen. Extensive decks, greenhouses and flower gardens compliment the scenery and you can watch Dall Sheep grazing, read on the deck of your cabin or relax in the hot tub after a day of exploration. Sheep Mountain is a two hour drive from Anchorage.
