This 1922 lightkeeper’s home, set along the dramatic shores of Iceberg Alley, has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its historic charm while offering modern comfort. Inside, ten individually decorated rooms blend period character with contemporary touches, think polished wooden floors, antique furnishings, and soft coastal hues that echo the surrounding seascape.

Facilities

A stay at Quirpon Lighthouse Inn is a unique experience. Whales are constant companions off the shores of Quirpon, often coming close enough to the rocks to be touched. Whale experts ascribe this phenomenon to the underwater topography and ample food supply. In addition to Humbacks and Minke - the presence of which is virtually inevitable - you may spot as many as 27 more species, including Orca, which are being spotted with increasing frequency around Quirpon Island despite becoming a rarer sight elsewhere in Newfoundland. This array of whale life can be observed from the heated, indoor whale watching station. Read a book in comfort and keep an ear open for whales calling for your attention.

Location

Located off the northernmost tip of Newfoundland, Quirpon Island boasts the longest iceberg-viewing season in Newfoundland, with the last melting in the Autumn during a good year.
