Unbridled Spirit

The lively state of Kentucky borders seven states and within its borders are some of the newest and best attractions. Kentucky also boasts a temperate climate, a gracious mix of urban and rural settings and a population known for its hospitality.

Kentucky’s geography varies from the Appalachian Mountains in the east to America’s largest inland peninsula “Land between the Lakes” to the west. In between are beautiful rolling hills, enticing waterways, and bluegrass horse country.

History & Horses

The state is best known for horse farms (with Lexington being the horse-breeding centre and many of its surrounding farms welcome visitors on free tours), bourbon distilleries, moonshine stills, fried chicken, bluegrass music and of course, the famous Kentucky Derby which is held annually in Louisville.

Louisville was founded by General George Rogers Clark in 1778 as a base from which to harass British troops during the American Revolution. Today, restored historic sites sit side-by-side with modern structures and visitors can wander through the quaint streets in Old Louisville.

Kentucky's Bourbon

If you want to discover (and taste) the true spirit of Kentucky, you go to bourbon country. As America’s signature liquor, bourbon is crafted with pride and care only in the Bluegrass State. Add to that the many wineries and breweries, and there’s a whole range of signature drink offerings for you to explore, including the famous Kentucky Derby mint julep. You’ll find Kentucky’s spirit wherever you go. Here’s to your health
