Located in the South Bay region, this historic beach city is well known for its bustling harbour, horse-shoe shaped Municipal Pier and world class beaches. For the adventurous, the beach and surrounding area provide a great location for surfing and biking. Take to the seas via kayak, paddleboard, pedal boat or sail boat from some fantastic encounters with the local marine wildlife or get a closer look by snorkelling or scuba diving from the shore.  From the months of November through to April you’re likely to see migrating grey whales from the shoreline on their way down to Baja, Mexico. You can also see these magnificent creatures up close and personal on a whale watching excursion.

For the shopaholics choose from the world-class stores on the South Bay Galleria or browse Riviera Village’s charming boutiques, eclectic shops and restaurants. South Bay Marketplace also hosts great fashion and dining options. Alternatively, drive along the Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach where you’ll find an array of antique and boutique stores. Dining in Redondo Beach is a treat for everyone, boasting some of the finest seafood restaurants in California and international flavours throughout the city. Enjoy a romantic, oceanfront meal at one of the restaurants at the Beach Pier and enjoy live music and spectacular sunsets every evening.

Palos Verde

Palos Verdes is a group of affluent coastal towns in the Palos Verdes Hills in southern California. The drive along Palos Verdes Drive is one of the finest drives in the United States and tops the list of things to do. Palos Verdes Drive West and South are the highlights, a seaside “yellow brick road” that traces the cliffs, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.

Malaga Cove is home to a charming shopping plaza and library that features beautiful Spanish Renaissance architecture. Abalone Cove Trails lead from the beach to Portuguese Bend to the left and Inspiration Point. Portuguese Bend is beautiful and largely unspoiled land facing the sea. The Gazebo at Roessler Point has a spectacular view of the coastline Queen’s Necklace all the way around to Malibu.
