Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Las Vegas and make your way to the MGM Grand, your base for the first two nights. Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world, so even after a long journey you will be drawn to experience this amazing destination after dark with its incredible themed hotels and unique atmosphere.
You have a full day to experience the atmosphere and entertainment of Las Vegas. Wander the famous Las Vegas Strip to explore the themed hotels which line its route, or hop abord the monorail which connects many together, enabling you to see even more. Take adventage of the sunny temperatures and relax by the pool. Or perhaps book an excursion to Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire, Death Valley or any of the other nearby attractions.
This morning, check out of your Las Vegas hotel and collect your car rental, ready to start of your outdoor adventure. From the city of entertainment to the awe inspiring Grand Canyon, truly one of the most spectacular sights in the world. En route, take time to stop and take a tour of the Hoover Dam, on the Nevada/Arizona border. You have a second full day here, allowing plenty of time to perhaps hike into the Canyon or take an aerial view.
A leisurely morning at the Grand Canyon is followed by a short drive to Lake Powell. Enjoy two nights at Lake Powell Resort overlooking the man-made lake, which was created when the Glenn Canyon Dam was built in 1966. Don’t miss taking the boat trip out to Rainbow Bridge, the tallest natural bridge in the world.
Depart for Monument Valley, one of the most photographed places in America. Many parts of this visually stunning area can be better viewed by taking one of the escorted jeep rides which are offered with a Navajo Indian guide. Relax and experience the serenity of the incredible scenery in this beautiful part of the world.
Some of the best scenery in the southwest can be viewed on the journey to Moab, so take some time to enjoy it. We suggest you spend the day exploring Canyonlands National Park which is en route to your accommodation. With three nights based in Moab, you can spend a full day at Arches National Park, and still have plenty of opportunity to explore more of western Utah’s majestic scenery. There’s a wide range of recreational pursuits available to the adventurous, including hiking, rafting, boating and biking.
Named for the enormous rock ridge that runs for more than 150 Km through it, Capitol Reef is a very peaceful and tranquil National Park with several hiking trails and scenic drives winding through it. Some of the sites not to be missed are Panorama Point; a scenic vista overlooking the Sulphur Creek goosenecks and Chimney Rock; a towering stone steeple. Also take a trip to Hickman Bridge which is a beautiful, photogenic natural bridge that can be seen at the end of a short hike.
Today’s short drive brings you to spectacular Bryce Canyon. Here you can see some of the earth’s most colourful rocks, sculpted by erosion into pillars and spires. You may choose to leave your car and take a hike along one of the many loop trails down into the Canyon and walk among the colourful stone monuments.
It is just a couple of hours drive south to Zion National Park, so don’t rush the journey as the scenery is absolutely breath-taking. This area of southern Utah is renowned as one of the most special areas of the USA, often described as spiritual. Zion National Park’s canyons and mesas boast an especially exquisite beauty. Breathtaking Zion Canyon is the centrepiece of this 147,000-acre parkland that protects a spectacular landscape of high plateaus, sheer canyons, and monolithic cliffs. You can enjoy hiking in the park; whether it be a relatively easy hike like the Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock or the Riverside Walk, there is incredible scenery all around you. Experienced hikers in search of more adventure may consider the Taylor Creek Trail, Angels Landing, The Narrows, and Kolob Arch. Observation Point and Hidden Canyon beckons visitors who trade a strenuous climb for stunning panoramas on higher ground.
Enjoy your final morning amongst Utah’s scenic beauty, before making your way back to Las Vegas McCarran Airport to return your rental car, and check-in for your flight back to the UK.
