Journeying from Calgary to Banff, you’ll witness a never-ending procession of mountains, glistening lakes and jagged peaks, providing plenty of photo opportunities. Take your time enjoying the journey to Banff, as you have three nights to explore all that this incredible town offers. Perhaps you’d like to experience life as a musher, heading out with a team of huskies on a sledding experience. Maybe you’d enjoy a horseback ride through the snowy peaks? Make sure you enjoy a hearty breakfast, as another action-packed wintery day lies ahead. It is just a short drive from Banff to picturesque Lake Louise, which is still located within Banff National Park. We suggest taking the scenic Bow Valley Parkway route which runs parallel to the Trans-Canada highway. Winter is a great time to get outside in Lake Louise. The air is fresh and crisp and the snow-blanketed landscape is so beautiful and quiet. Snowshoeing is a great choice for a fun winter activity because it’s easy to learn, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, fitness levels, and experiences. Other wintery adventures we recommend are snowmobiling through breathtaking scenery, passing frozen waterfalls, and incredible mountain vistas along the way. Perhaps you like to take things a little slower if so, there are many public sleigh rides available in Lake Louise. The sound of jingling sleigh bells and the sights of the magical snowy landscape makes you feel like you are a character in your very own fairy tale.
