Itinerary

Depart the UK on your scheduled flight to Calgary. Upon arrival, collect your rental car and proceed to the Hotel Arts in downtown Calgary, where you will spend the first two nights of your amazing adventure. Your stylish hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, where you can enjoy dinner.

Accommodation

12 Miles / 19 Kilometres

Calgary is an urban gem, with a great character and plenty to keep you occupied. If you are feeling energetic, the cycle paths roam through public art, protected parks and riverside districts. The neighbourhoods of Inglewood and Kensington are also worth a visit. Having staged the 1988 Winter Olympics, Calgary has a superb Winter Sports Museum. Located 191 metres above the downtown core, the Calgary Tower offers the best view in the city and is a must-see on any visitor’s itinerary. Other options include the Canadian Wild West at Heritage Park, Calgary Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Prehistoric Park.

Accommodation

78 Miles / 126 Kilometres

This morning, your adventure continues as you head into the infamous Rocky Mountains with a destination of Banff National Park. Your accommodation is in the town of Banff, which is surrounded by Banff National Park and the delights that await. Over the next four days the options available to fill your time are almost limitless. Of course, you must make the short journey to Lake Louise to view the emerald waters. Take a boat trip, hike the shores and enjoy the force of mother natures beauty. As the first national park established in Canada and a coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site, what makes Banff National Park so special is its vast unspoiled wilderness. Hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking and river rafting are just some of the activities to keep your adrenalin going. It is home to hundreds of diverse species of wildlife. Look to the skies and you may see bald eagles circling overhead, or one of 260 other species of birds that live here. Grizzly bears and black bears roam the peaks and valleys, as well as moose, elk, wolves and cougars. Keep an eye out as you drive through the park’s mountain roads and you might even see bighorn sheep bounding up the hillsides.

Accommodation

230 Miles / 370 Kilometres

You may be leaving a national park today, but don’t dismay, you are heading on to another! Your destination of Waterton National Park will not disappoint. This park makes up half of the Glacier-Waterton International Peace Park, which was the first of its kind when it was established in 1932. Clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-coloured streams, colourful rocks and mountain vistas await hikers and sightseers. Sightsee on scenic roadways, watching for abundant wildlife, explore its natural attractions, from a vivid red canyon to mist-cloaked waterfalls and peruse the Waterton town, which is where you are staying, in a beutiful spot overlooking the water.

Accommodation

175 Miles / 282 Kilometres

Today, you make your way back to Calgary. It will take a little over three hours, so you may have time to call for a spot of lunch en route. On arrival at Calgary International Airport, return your rental car and check in for your flight back to the UK.
