This morning, your adventure continues as you head into the infamous Rocky Mountains with a destination of Banff National Park. Your accommodation is in the town of Banff, which is surrounded by Banff National Park and the delights that await. Over the next three days the options available to fill your time are almost limitless. Of course, you must make the short journey to Lake Louise to view the emerald waters. Take a boat trip, hike the shores and enjoy the force of mother natures beauty. As the first national park established in Canada and a coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site, what makes Banff National Park so special is its vast unspoiled wilderness. Hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking and river rafting are just some of the activities to keep your adrenalin going. It is home to hundreds of diverse species of wildlife. Look to the skies and you may see bald eagles circling overhead, or one of 260 other species of birds that live here. Grizzly bears and black bears roam the peaks and valleys, as well as moose, elk, wolves and cougars. Keep an eye out as you drive through the park’s mountain roads and you might even see bighorn sheep bounding up the hillsides.
