Glacier Discovery Train with Guided Walk from Anchorage

Depart on the Alaska Railroad for a three-and-a-half-hour ride to Spencer Glacier in the remote Chugach Mountains. Then participate in a guided walk led by a US Forest Service Ranger or explore the area on your own. The ranger will lead a narrated walk to a platform for views of Spencer Glacier (about five kilometers roundtrip). This low-impact gravel path offers benches and incredibly scenic views along the way. On the return, travel by train from Spencer to Portage and then change onto a motorcoach back to Anchorage. Lunch is not included but may be purchased aboard the train.
