Enjoy a truly western heritage experience in Banff National Park, by taking a trail ride which follows one of the historic routes made in the 1920s by the original Canadian Rockies explorers. With over 300 horses, Banff Trail Riders are able to match the perfect horse to each rider, ensuring a safe and memorable experience. Ranging from one to four hours, there’s a myriad of trail options available.

Bow River Ride Horseback Adventure – one hour
The shortest option, you are guided through the Cave & Basin – the original historic hot springs. The trail loops around the marsh following the Bow River back to Warner Stables.

Sundance Loop Ride Horseback Adventure – two hours
Departing from Warner Stables, the cowboys will lead you through the Cave & Basin – the original hot springs, and along the Bow River. Fantastic scenery surrounds as you climb up Sulphur Mountain around the Windy Knoll viewpoint. The ride loops around the marsh, following the Bow River, bringing you back to Warner Stables.

Cowboy Horseback Cookout BBQ Dinner – three hours
Enjoy a leisurely one-hour trail ride to the BBQ site, located near the Sundance Canyon trail. Try your hand at roping, challenge friends to a game of horseshoes or relax in the picnic area, while the cook prepares your steak to order. After a hearty meal you will ride back to Warner Stables for an hour along the banks of the Bow River. A covered wagon options is also available for those who dont wan’t to ride.
